How a Bilingual Personality Quiz Took a Exhibition Beyond Its Usual Crowd

For our 2025 graduation exhibition Seeing, we set out to explore the theme of “coexistence with AI.” To bring this idea to life in an interactive and engaging way, we collaborated with OOOPEN Lab to create a personality test called “AI Aura Scanner” — available in both Chinese and English. What we didn’t expect was just how powerful this quiz would become in helping us reach beyond our immediate circles and drive unexpected engagement across audiences.

Using Personality Tests to Deepen the Theme

At the heart of our exhibition was a personality quiz that asked visitors a series of everyday, story-driven questions, blending design thinking with personal introspection. The results revealed a unique “aura,” with light representing one’s outward personality and shadow reflecting deeper internal thoughts.

This concept aligned beautifully with our exhibition’s theme, and OOOPEN Lab’s quiz module made it easy to design a seamless experience. The result? Engagement that far exceeded our expectations. The test didn’t just connect people to the theme — it helped them connect with themselves and with the exhibition in a more personal, meaningful way.

A Breakthrough Moment for Audience Reach

The quiz quickly became a centerpiece of the Seeing exhibition. Thanks to the accessible and fun nature of the questions, visitors felt seen and understood — and they wanted to share their results. This sense of resonance led to rapid organic spread, allowing us to reach audiences far beyond our original community. Participation and feedback were overwhelmingly positive, helping the exhibition gain momentum across new circles.

Bilingual Versions Opened the Door to Global Reach

To ensure an inclusive experience, we made the test available in both Chinese and English. This enabled many international visitors at the physical exhibition to participate effortlessly — and it also gave the project greater visibility online. We promoted the quiz on Instagram and Facebook while setting up touchscreen displays and QR codes on-site to guide visitors directly to the test. The sharing rate was astonishing — and the quiz became a powerful driver of foot traffic and interaction. This seamless fusion of online and offline engagement created a fully immersive experience, empowering our audience to become natural advocates for the event.

From backend data, we saw exceptional conversion rates and strong feedback from on-site attendees. The personality test garnered far more views than anticipated, and social engagement continued to climb.
